The Underboop series contains my anguish at the process of creation, and my own longing for freedom. The murals behind the Pierrot girl in the paintings are all reproductions of works that I have painted previously. I’m both excited and scared to face my work from yesterday. As much as I love it. It's also painful for me, because I know that I can't stay stuck in the past, I need to confront the past in order to get over it, because moving forward is the only way I don't get pulled backward. I always have to fight to free myself from being trapped inside myself. It's not someone else that I have to jump over, but yesterday's me.
