Jaeyi Kim - Wanted

$1,260.00

Wanted began as a self-portrait from my childhood. The Pierrot girl's eyes hold both fear and hope. Because of this, fear will help her grow, and hope will make her shine.

In a world where everyone is expected to keep their feelings and expressions hidden, Pierrot became a symbol for how one might express oneself. There was a little dog who was constantly trying to catch up to others, and longed to change into a horse that could run faster than everyone. After seeing the grieving dog one day, Pierrot made the decision to fulfill the unfortunate dog's dream and painted stripes onto him. The tiny dog then changed into a swift zebra. Pierrot the clown, who had lost his face in heavy makeup, spoke a warning to the contented small dog: “well, now you can run as fast as a horse, but you must return as quickly as possible, for if you stay too long, you might really lose yourself”.

Just like my dream, please remember your own childhood dream.
